Sending your piece to Kyoto, safely
Most of the anxiety in kintsugi restoration is in the mailing, not the mending. Here is exactly how to pack your piece, plus how to reach us directly with any question.

How to pack a broken ceramic for shipment
- Wrap each individual fragment separately in soft tissue, then in bubble wrap — never let broken edges touch each other or hard surfaces.
- Place wrapped fragments in a rigid, sturdy box with a minimum of 5cm of cushioning (packing paper or foam) on all sides. Fragments should not shift when the box is gently shaken.
- Include a short note inside with your full name, email, and a one-line description of the piece.
- Seal with strong packing tape and mark the box "FRAGILE" on at least two sides.
- Ship with an insured, trackable international courier (we recommend FedEx or DHL) declared as "artwork for restoration, no commercial value" for customs purposes.
- Email us the tracking number so we can watch for your parcel's arrival.
